Fields Of Gold Farms is a small, family owned and operated farm that specializes in breeding the finest Gypsy Vanners and gypsy sport horses available. The journey that has become Fields of Gold began back in 2006 when I was searching for the perfect "dad proof" horse for my city-raised father. My mother had horses growing up so she naturally started my riding career at a young age. Once I had made it into my twenties without serious injury or death, we decided it was time for my dad to learn what our love of horses was all about. However, my hot tempered ex-racehorse surely wasn't going to be the one for him to learn on. I came across the Gypsy Gold website by accident but was immediately drawn to this new breed and since they were located within an hour drive, what would be the harm? Well that trip was our undoing. After a couple hours at Gypsy Gold, the whole family was ruined for any other breed. We spent the rest of the year learning everything we could about the breed and its history. Finally in January 2007, we purchased a Latcho Drom/SamSam embryo. We named the colt Denali, which means "the strong one," because none of us had ever seen such a tank-like little foal. Over time, we have put together a well rounded breeding program, with attention to athleticism, blood lines, and of course feather.
